Do you want to help your child and help yourself at the same time. Knowing how your child learns and knowing how you learn (and teach) can eliminate so much frustration in your daily routine. If you had a blind child you would not have posters all over the walls with math facts or grammar rules. Nor if you had a deaf child would you explain things verbally. Although this may be an extreme example it may be just what you are doing with your students. Everybody has a gifted way to learn. When we try to teach them outside those bents we restrict their learning. It's not that they won't learn but the process will be hard and frustrating to both student and teacher. The first step is understand the idea of learning styles. This site was originally conceived in 1998 by Liz Bogod, an adult with learning disabilities. Her story can be found at LD Online in the "First Person" section of the site
